About hearthis.at
hearthis.at is a German audio hosting and streaming platform for DJs, producers, podcasters, labels, and radio shows. Creators upload tracks, mixes, and podcast episodes, broadcast live via Icecast, and run 24/7 "Replay" radio stations from their uploads. A free account covers basic MP3 hosting, and a low-cost Premium plan adds unlimited uploads, lossless streaming, automatic tracklisting, detailed statistics, and paid fan subscriptions.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Premium costs 34.99 EUR per year, far less than SoundCloud's creator plans, and includes unlimited uploads
- Lossless streaming and support for WAV, FLAC, and AIF files suit DJs and producers who care about audio quality
- Built-in Icecast live streaming with automatic recording works with common DJ and broadcast software
- Replay turns an archive of mixes into a 24/7 radio station without extra hosting
- Paid fan subscriptions let creators earn directly from listeners
- Copyright compliance through ACRCloud and GDPR-compliant EU hosting from a German operator
Cons
- Much smaller listener base than SoundCloud or Mixcloud, so less organic discovery
- Interface looks dated compared to larger streaming platforms
- Free plan is limited to MP3 uploads, 30 tracks, and 5 GB total storage
- Creators keep only 60% of fan subscription revenue after taxes and transaction fees
- Small operator with limited third-party reviews and support resources
Key Features
Audio Uploads and Hosting
Upload tracks, DJ sets, and mixes with waveform players, cover art, backgrounds, and image slideshows. Free accounts get 400 MB per week (5 GB total, 30 tracks); Premium removes upload and storage limits.
Live Audio Streaming
Broadcast podcasts, radio shows, or DJ sessions live using Icecast with any client (butt, Traktor, Mixxx, SAM Cast, Shoutcast). Each live show is recorded and saved to your profile for later publishing.
Replay 24/7 Radio Station
Turn your uploaded content into a continuous 24/7 radio station and broadcast it as audio or video to social media platforms.
Podcast Hosting and RSS Feeds
Every profile and set gets a podcast RSS feed, and existing shows (including SoundCloud accounts) can be imported through the podcast import feature.
Paid Fan Subscriptions
Premium creators can offer monthly fan subscriptions with early access, exclusive downloads, and full tracklists. Payments run through Stripe, with 60% paid out to the creator monthly.
Lossless and Selectable Streaming Quality
Premium uploads can stream in lossless high fidelity or at 96 to 320 kbit/s, with support for MP3, WAV, AIF, M4A, AAC, OGG, FLAC, and WMA files.
Automatic Tracklisting
Premium mixes get automatic track identification, so listeners can see the tracklist of a DJ set.
Real-Time Statistics
Track streams, downloads, and podcast plays in real time; Premium unlocks detailed statistics and the option to hide counts below the waveform.
Embeds, Developer API, and WordPress Plugin
Embed players on other sites, integrate through the developer API, or use the official WordPress plugin to publish hearthis.at audio.
Mobile Apps
iOS and Android apps support background playback, and Premium features carry over to the apps.
